Sandy Lake fun!

Every year Keith takes his band out to the Sandy Lake Amusement Park, however it's usually been during the school day so I could never tag along. This year they went on a Saturday, so Dylan and I decide to join in on the fun. Dylan was pretty preoccupied with watching Daddy work, so we didn't get to try many rides before it was time to leave for lunch and nap time, but we left with plenty of tickets to come back on another day!

Dylan had his eye on the "big kid" rides at first...

Ready to ride the boats!

"Weeeee!"

Now ready to take on the race cars!

However half way through the ride he started screaming and trying to jump out of the moving car, so they had to stop it so I could take him off...we'll stick to the boats next time!

I had 2 videos of him riding the boat and car, but for some strange reason I couldn't get them off my memory card and I think I lost them...so sad :-(

Dylan's 2nd Birthday Pictures!

He's not quite 2 yet, but I took Dylan's birthday pictures a couple of days ago for his party invitations. I had seen the idea of tying balloons on a basket and putting him in it on a photog website one day and COULD NOT WAIT to try it out with him. When he came home and found the balloons and basket, he was so excited. He even let me put him in the basket, so I figured "this will be a piece of cake"...and, of course, I was wrong. Once we got to the park he wanted nothing to do with the balloons and pouted most of the time. Good news is, I still love all pictures of Dylan :-)

A Day Out with Thomas!

This weekend we went to Grapevine to go visit Thomas the Tank Engine. They had a lot of fun activities for kids and we were even able to ride the train, but unfortunately we couldn't do too much there because it had been storming all morning and everything was pretty wet. Also, I wasn't sure if Dylan even knew who Thomas was, so I was hoping it wasn't going to be a compete bust, but as soon as he saw the train he said "Thomas!".

Daddy and Dylan checking out the model trains

Playing with some trains while we waited to get on Thomas!

He's here!!!!

It's time! All aboard!

Waving to everybody as we passed by....

Dylan could not stay still long enough for a picture...

Sir Topham Hatt! Keith couldn't wait to meet him!!

Thanks for the ride, Thomas!!! :-)

Easter 2012

Luckily, since we had no snow days this winter, we had a 4-day weekend for Easter...the first in years for us! We were so excited for the time off. And it was nice that Keith's parents and Stacey decided to come up and spend the holiday weekend with us...always fun having family around!

On Friday we had to take Dylan to get his hair cut. We usually take him to Argyle (where Keith gets his haircut) however we won't be able to see Robin for a few weeks and Dylan needed one, BAD!
Trying to keep still while watching Elmo...

...clean cut and "let's go Rangers!"

Saturday we made the Bunny cake (which tasted awesome, by the way), the eggs, and made a trip to our favorite Arbor Creek Nature Preserve.

Hi Rory!

Dylan also opened some presents from Grandma & Grandpa S.

Yea, new swim shorts and hat! We're beach-ready!

On Sunday Dylan woke up and opened his Easter baskets from the Easter bunny and from both grandparents. We then headed off to church and he did amazing! Thanks to Papa for holding him most of the time and keeping him still! As we were leaving it started raining and it rained most of the afternoon. I was afraid Dylan would't get to do his egg hunt :-( After his nap we drove up to Denton to have dinner with Joey and by the time we made it back, it had cleared up pretty well. So off to the park we went! Success!!!
"Yea, Elmo!!!"

Dylan's Easter loot!

At Outback with Joey...

Finding eggs...

Found some more!

Bubbles!

Tickles from Aunt Stacey...

Love him!

Love him too!!!

Typical afternoon for us

It was a fun weekend for us and we're so ready to get the next 2 months out of the way! Thanks to Keith's family for traveling up and spending some fun times with us!

Our next project is Dylan's birthday party...can't believe he'll be 2 next month!!!
