Months 1-3

I found this really cute idea on another blog and was so excited to try it myself. With Dylan I did monthly belly pics, but since you start to show sooner with your second baby (and I already look like I'm 20 wks preggers), I wanted to try something different.

Dallas Children's Aquarium

Well the last thing on my "Summer Fun To-Do List" was to take Dylan to the Dallas Children's Aquarium. Although it was a bit small (nothing compared to the Dallas World Aquarium), it was the perfect size for a toddler with a short attention span.

He loved watching the sharks...

...and visiting the turtle!

This weekend we went to a birthday party for one of Dylan's friends from school and he was SO excited to see his friends again! I could stay home for another month or so, but I think Dylan is ready to go back tomorrow! You have to wait 2 more weeks, buddy, sorry :-(

Painting and fish!!!

A couple of days ago while Keith was out running, Dylan was going through his coloring bin and pulled out the paints...so we painted! Unfortunately I was so distracted by trying to get my camera in the correct settings (shooting in Manual, like a big girl!) and didn't realize the "fun" he was having.

The real fun started when he realized that the paint would splash everywhere when he would clap his hands...

It was much worst after this, believe me! I think the best part was when Keith got home and thought the paint was blood... Fun night :-)

For Dylan's birthday (2 months ago) I wanted to get him a fish (like Elmo on Elmo's World) but we never actually got around to getting it for him...until last night! I really wanted to get him a goldfish, but the guy at PetsMart said goldfish are better off in big tanks and we were only getting a bowl...so we went with a betta. No one was more excited about the fish than the cat...no one!

Welcome to our family, little fish with no name yet!

Our morning at the Stockyards

I've been really trying to take advantage of this summer with Dylan and take him to as many places as I can, while he's in that "wow, cool!" stage. It's an adventure whenever we go out! I've never been to the Fort Worth Stockyards, so last week we acted like tourists and checked it out.

Loved these spices and I even tried a bottled Dr. Pepper! It was a little too sweet for my taste...

Here come the cattle!!! Yee-ha!

I can never pass up a fun railroad pic!

Afterwards we went downtown for lunch...

We've been working on potty training with Dylan this past week. The first 2 days were rough and we cleaned A LOT of pee from the floors (like Anna said, so thankful for the hardwood floors downstairs!), but Dylan has been doing so much better about telling us when he has to go BEFORE and not DURING. He's still using a diaper during nap-time/bedtime and when we go out, however most of those diapers have been staying pretty dry. Even if he's not 100% potty-trained by the time he goes back to school, we're still so proud of him!!!
